The Cressage Area Research Project
This project has been led by local historians Dr Trevor G. Hill, Mrs Margaret Hill and their research assistant Mrs Patricia Theobald.

During the past ten years they have undertaken a demographic and landscape study of the parishes of Acton Burnell, Berrington, Church Preen, Cound, Cressage, Harley, Hughley, Kenley, Pitchford and Sheinton.

These parishes form a triangular area that is bounded by physical features; the River Severn, the Stretton Hills and Wenlock Edge.

The aim of the study was to discover if the families who lived in this area formed a discrete community. The results have been the subject of local lectures and have also been displayed at various local history events.
