Following a decision made at the AGM in June 2007 the group decided to disband and close-down its accounts at the end of 2007. As a result the assets of the group are being transferred to the Sheinton Parochial Church Council who will use any remaining funds and those generated from future sale of the Sheinton book for the benefit of the community.
Before transfer of the stock of books free copies have been donated to local schools. Plans are being prepared to ensure that much of the research material generated during the lifetime of the Sheinton Heritage Group is made available at Sheinton Parish Church. It is at the heart of the community and is used for local events apart from church worship.
Although the group has officially closed such good friendship was created from its activities that a number of members will still meet together on an ad-hoc basis to undertake further research into the area and arrange lectures and other events for the benefit of the local community.
