Sheinton, Shropshire is the work of six writers, all members of the Group.
Trevor Hill is the main contributor with his historical chapters on the Middle Ages, Industry and the river trade, Agriculture, the Manor and the Gentry, and (with Margaret) the Parish Church. Norman Davies writes on the Sheinton School, Margaret Hill a demographer on Farmers, Smallholders and Cottagers. Chris Rayner, a geologist herself, deals with Geology and Landscape while Mike Rayner summarizes the Archaeological Work of 2005. There is an additional chapter by Dee Revell on the neighbouring villages of Homer and Wigwig, actually in the parish of Much Wenlock.
The book is well illustrated with maps, drawings, tables and photographs, with a special central colour section. The stock of the Sheinton book is now held by Sheinton Parochial Church Council and purchases can be made by contacting Margaret Hill at 5 Severn Way, Cressage, SHREWSBURY, SY5 6DS [01952-510579]
