Saturday 11th August - Shinewood Mill Leat exploration.
Interesting discoveries at Shinewood manor and mill.

Following an initial survey by Mike Rayner and Trevor Hill a small group of members visited the intriguing water control system of Shinewood Mill with a view to taking measurements, making observations, taking photographs and attempting to understand how it functioned.

It was a fine, sunny day and water levels were low, enabling the discovery of several significant structures, including a low stone construction across the full width of the brook just below the weir and the remains of associated timbers.
